Both sides started the game with twelve aside. Carnaross led at half-time by 3-2 to 0-9. John Carpenter scored a goal direct from a free and the other two goals came from Colm McDonagh.

Carnaross extended their lead in the second-half and led by 5 points with about 10 minutes remaining. However, Carnaross had to play the last 10 minutes with 11 players when Colm Carpenter sustained an injury to his arm. With the spare man, Seneschalstown gradually took control of the game and Carnaross were beaten by two late goals.

It was a great all round performance from the Carnaross team with Peter Carpenter, John Ward and Barry Donoghue excellent in defence. Charles Dillon and John Carpenter worked hard at midfield, while HJ Muldoon and Colm McDonagh excelled in attack.
