Wednesday 21st March 2018 proved to be a memorable night for two Carnaross players who were in Freshers action with their college teams.

DCU 0-10 UL 0-8 

In the Division 1 decider, which was played in Portarlington, DCU were crowned champions for the third year in-a-row after they narrowly defeated UL to lift the Daithi Billings cup.

Frank O’Reilly lined out at wing forward for DCU and chipped in with a point.

DKIT 2-17 MARY IMMACULATE COLLEGE 2-09

Meanwhile, at the same time, DKIT were ending their 13 year wait for an All Ireland Freshers Championship title against Mary Immaculate College in the Division 2 Final.

John Brogan (pictured left) was introduced from the bench for the Oisin McConville managed Dundalk side.

Well done to both Frank and John. All Ireland titles don’t come around too often – never mind two the one night!
