Registration
Juvenile registration will take place in the clubhouse on Thursday 28th February and Thursday 7th March from 6.45pm to 8pm. All children who wish to play or train must register. Training for all groups (except U6s) will start back on the 28th February.

Training and Games
A new ladies GFC committee (chairperson Regina Murphy) has been established to promote ladies football within the club with a view to registering a Carnaross LGFA club. Girls juvenile coaching will commence this spring. Coaches are in place to coach two all-girls groups, an under 8 group and an 8 to 12-year olds group. The boy’s structure will remain the same as last year U8s, U10s and U12s. At nursery level (U6s) boys and girls will remain together as one group.

Go Games are scheduled to start on Saturday 2nd March. Challenge matches will be organised for the girls over the summer.

Hurling
Hurling is available to boys and girls of all ages. Children who wish to play should register with Kilskyre Hurling Club. Kilskyre JHC will be hosting a registration/training day on March 3rd in Kilskyre and would invite young and old to come along. For 2019, Kilskyre and Moylagh juvenile clubs have joined under the name Loughcrew Gaels. Hurling Go Games start on March 9th. For more details please contact Tom Shortt 086 8748238.

Broadcast Groups
To improve communications new broadcast groups will be set up to replace WhatsApp groups. When a broadcast message is sent it goes from the sender to all recipients in the list, however replies to that message will only be seen by the person who sent the message. In order to receive a broadcast message from a coach you need to ensure you have their mobile number saved in your phone’s address book.

Club Development
A big year ahead for the club with significant progress by the Development Committee in the past twelve months to move the new clubhouse extension project forward. The tendering process is complete and the main contractor has been appointed. In early March you will see the building contractor mobilise on site to begin works. The construction project is estimated to take eight months to complete. The new clubhouse will be a built on two story extension to the existing clubhouse and will comprise of a new entrance lobby, two new dressing rooms and a 2nd floor multi-purpose area. The development project received unanimous ratification by our members at the AGM held in January so full steam ahead now over the next 8 months.

Safety at our grounds
Due to the large number of young children in the club grounds on Thursday evenings we urge all parents to drive with safety in the club car park. Please be vigilant to all children walking and running in the club grounds.

Friends of Carnaross
The club launched a new fundraiser, Friends of Carnaross GFC, last year, and wish to thank all members who have joined up and made it such a huge success. This monthly draw has given the club a much-needed regular revenue stream. We hope for your continued support for this draw in the next cycle and beyond.
