B League (Division 4)
Played in Carnaross – 10/7/2019
Despite the large finishing margin this was a competitive game at times but ultimately Carnaross had the ability to take their points and build up an unassailable lead. Indeed, Carnaross registered seven points before Syddan’s first score. Dillon Fox opened the scoring with a 45 and he was heavily involved early on scoring a further two points while Declan Reilly was also firing well with three first half scores.
Syddan’s first score was a goal following a defensive mix up and the followed with a pointed free to narrow the gap to three. However, Declan Reilly netted a superb goal following a defence splitting pass from Killian Porter to restore Carnaross’s advantage. Further points from John L McGee and Shane Casserly stretched the lead before Syddan hit their second goal on the stroke of half time to leave five between the teams at the break 1-09 to 2-01.
Carnaross started the second half strongly with Reilly and Casserley striking early goals. The bench was emptied with Shane Yore once again hitting the net off the bench. The highlight off the half was a point from John L McGee following an exceptional ball from Brian O’Connor. Carnaross tagged on a few more points while Syddan struck 1-3 in the second half.
