Dunderry leapfrogged Carnaross in the league table with a comfortable victory over the home side.
Carnaross 0-8 Dunderry 1-15
A League (Division 2)
Played in Carnaross – 29/5/2019
Things were looking good for Carnaross early on as they opened up a three point lead in the opening minutes with points from Dermot McGee, Niall McDonnell and Killian Porter. The match would then swing decisively in the visitor’s favour as they rattled off 1-6 without reply. Carnaross spurned a couple of goal chances which could potentially have given them a stronger footing in the game but the home side’s indiscipline cost them dearly as Dunderry punished them with 6 frees from placed balls in the first half to lead by 1-8 to 0-5 at half time.
It was mostly one way traffic after the break as Dunderry, playing with the breeze on their backs, kept the Ross under constant pressure. Cillian Comaskey opened the scoring for Carnaross but Dunderry effectively killed off the game by scoring the next 5 points in a row. Paddy McDermott scored a pair of frees late on but the result was never in doubt as Dunderry ran out winners on a scoreline on 1-15 to 0-8.
